Costa fit and Remy back in training

Chelsea: Diego Costa

Diego Costa is expected to be fit for Chelsea’s game against West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday, while Loic Remy has returned to training following his recent injury.

Costa limped off in the final minutes of Sunday’s FA Cup win against Scunthorpe after suffering a knock to his knee, but the Spain striker trained on Tuesday and has declared himself fit.

“Costa is okay. It is not inside the joint, happily,” said Blues boss Guus Hiddink. “The day after the game he wanted to go on to the pitch already and I was a bit amazed.”

Fellow forward Remy has not featured since the 3-1 win against Sunderland on 19 December but could also be in the squad for the Albion game.

However, Eden Hazard remains sidelined with a groin problem and is expected to also miss this weekend’s game against Everton.

“Hazard is doing better but is still not available,” Hiddink confirmed.
