Chelsea Under-21 captain Jordan Houghton has joined Gillingham on loan.
The 19-year-old, who can play in the centre of defence or midfield, will be with the League One club until 3 January.
An England Under-20 international, Houghton has played in the NextGen Series and Uefa Youth League and was part of the Blues squad that played post-season friendlies in Thailand and Australia.
He is currently under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2017.
