Sun say Chelsea want Spurs boss Pochettino

Stories involving Chelsea in Tuesday’s newspapers…

The Sun claim Chelsea want Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino to be their next manager.

It comes amid speculation over the futures of both Pochettino and Blues boss Antonio Conte.

Pochettino said at the weekend that he would discuss his future with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and called for the club to “take risks” in order to progress.

That prompted reports that he could leave this summer – and The Sun now claim he is wanted by Chelsea.

The newspaper declare that Pochettino is “at loggerheads” with Levy over transfer funds and “is aware of interest from Blues owner Roman Abramovich.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail say the cost involved for Chelsea in sacking Conte is rising because a number of his backroom staff are set to depart with him.

Conte has a year of his contract at Stamford Bridge remaining and would reportedly be in line for a £9m pay-off were he to be dismissed this summer.

The Mail say a total of nine Italians, including Conte, will leave if he goes.
