Transfer gossip: Chelsea linked with Wigan youngster

Transfer speculation involving Chelsea in Sunday’s newspapers….

Chelsea are leading a race to sign Wigan youngster Joe Gelhardt, it is claimed.

Everton are also said to be keen on the England Under-17 international, who has yet to start a game for Wigan.

The Sunday Express declare that Chelsea boss Frank Lampard “is in pole position” to sign Gelhardt, 17, despite interest from other clubs.

The newspaper say would be happy to wait until the summer to bring in Gelhardt if an appeal against Chelsea’s transfer ban to the Court of Arbitration for Sport is unsuccessful.

Barca want Willian – reports

There continues to be speculation over the future of Willian.

Barcelona have previously shown an interest in the Brazilian, whose Chelsea contract is due to expire at the end of the season.

And the Mail on Sunday have picked up on reports in Spain suggesting that Barca remain interested in signing him.
