Blues announce signing of left-back Luis

Chelsea have finalised the signing of Brazilian left-back Filipe Luis from Atletico Madrid.

The 28-year-old has moved to Stamford Bridge for an undisclosed fee – reported to be in the region of £16m – and has signed a three-year contract.

He becomes the second player to join the Blues from Atletico this summer, with striker Diego Costa having also swapped La Liga for the Premier League.

Luis, seemingly a direct replacement for Ashley Cole, who recently signed for Roma, has won four caps for Brazil but was not included in their World Cup squad.
