‘Shameful’ Sarri decision angers Chelsea fans

Chelsea’s miserable spell continued with an FA Cup exit at the hands of Manchester United.

Goals from Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba took United through to the quarter-finals – and increased the pressure on Maurizio Sarri.

Head coach Sarri was again barracked by Blues fans, with the decision to bring Davide Zappacosta on rather than Callum Hudson-Odoi late in the game in particular causing anger.

The continued overlooking of youngster Hudson-Odoi, who is wanted by Bayern Munich, is testing the patience of many fans.

Many in the stadium were incensed by the introduction of Zappacosta and the reaction on Twitter was similarly furious.

The decision was described as “incomprehensible”, even “shameful”, as many supporters made their disgust clear.

  • Sarriball doesn't work in the premiership, it's become too predictable as even Bournemouth showed how to beat us!! No plan B, only using like for like subs. I remember trailing 2-0 at home to Liverpool at half time F A Cup 4th round. Gullit changed things, Vialli on and hey presto 4-2 win!!!!! Why does Sarri not try something different? 2-0 down go 3 at the back bring on Hudson-Odoi and Giroud have a go at them, nothing to lose.Perhaps he only knows one way of playing, sarriball 433. Worse than Scolari was I hate to admit.

  • What on earth is sarri thinking you are two goals down and your final sub is bringing a player we almost thought is no longer a Chelsea player when you have young talents that can change the game. This man has lost ideas.U keep playing the same team that is not yielding results I think for me it's game over.
