Transfer gossip: Chelsea rejected James bid, Sunday Mirror say

Transfer speculation in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs….

Chelsea have rejected a bid from Crystal Palace for Reece James, the Sunday Mirror claim.

Palace have been linked with the young right-back for some time and he has been touted as a possible replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who recently left the Eagles for Manchester United.

The Sunday Mirror claim Palace offered £20m for James, who impressed on loan at Championship side Wigan last season.

Chelsea are keen for James to sign a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, two more Blues youngsters are being tipped to move on loan again.

The Sun on Sunday say Swansea are hoping to snap up Jake Clarke-Salter and that Ike Ugbo is also set for another spell away from the Bridge.

There continues to be speculation over the future of Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon.

Tottenham have long been keen on the teenager – West London Sport revealed Spurs’ interest in Sessegnon three years ago.

Manchester United recently made an approach for him and he has been linked with several other clubs.

The Sunday Express say Spurs are close to signing Sessegnon and hope to tie up a deal for £25m plus add-ons.

And there also continues to be speculation over the future of Brentford striker Neal Maupay,

The Sun on Sunday declare that Maupay “is keen on exploring” a move to Sheffield United and “the Bees are resigned to losing him.”
