Transfer gossip: Mail now link Burnley with Drinkwater

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving the area’s clubs….

Burnley are the latest club to be linked with Danny Drinkwater.

Brighton and Norwich have also recently been linked with the midfielder, who has been touted for moves to several clubs during the last year or so.

Drinkwater is surplus to requirements at Chelsea but has opted to stay put rather than leave the club.

The Blues are hoping to ship him out before Thursday’s transfer deadline and the Daily Mail, having this week linked him with Norwich, now claim Burnley are keen.

Drinkwater was made available to clubs last season but chose not to move

Meanwhile, West Ham want Basel striker Albian Ajeti, it is claimed.

West London Sport revealed on Monday that Brentford want the Switzerland international but that he is hoping a Premier League club will come in for him.

His representatives are trying to drum up interest among top-flight sides – and he has been duly linked with West Ham.

The Daily Star have picked up on reports that the Hammers want him and are trying to push through an £8m deal.

And there continues to be speculation over the future of Fulham star Ryan Sessegnon, who is close to joining Tottenham.

The Daily Express have claimed Sessegnon’s move could be hijacked by Marseille, who supposedly want him.
