Transfer gossip: Sun again tout Grealish for Chelsea move

Some of the transfer speculation involving Chelsea in Thursday’s newspapers…

Chelsea have again been linked with Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish.

Tottenham have been tipped to sign Grealish, who was widely expected to leave Villa prior to a recent takeover of the Championship club and is still being touted for a move.

The Sun declare that Chelsea “are ready to hijack” Grealish’s move to Tottenham and that they “want to snatch” him “from under the noses of their rivals.”

A ‘Villa source’ is quoted by the newspaper as saying: “The new owners do not need to sell players but are aware of Financial Fair Play next season, which is out of their hands.”

The Sun also say Thibaut Courtois has told Chelsea he will not sign a new deal and will leave on a free transfer when his contract expires next summer unless they sell him before then.

The Daily Mail say Chelsea will take the risk of losing keeper Courtois for no fee next year unless they are able to sign a replacement for him ahead of next week’s transfer deadline.

Meanwhile, the Daily Star say Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri is set for for talks with Willian about the Brazilian’s future at Stamford Bridge.

And the Daily Mirror continue to link Gonzalo Higuaín with Chelsea despite reports the Juventus striker has agreed a move to AC Milan.

The Mirror still say Chelsea want the Argentina international, have not given up hope of signing him and could sell Olivier Giroud to Marseille in order to finance a move.
