Burnley want Chelsea’s Tomori for £15m, Star claim

Stories in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs….

Burnley want to sign defender Fikayo Tomori from Chelsea, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

Tomori impressed with his performances in the Championship while on loan at Derby County last season under Frank Lampard.

And it is claimed that Burnley boss Sean Dyche is looking to snap the youngster up this summer.

The Clarets are reported to be looking to buy England Under-21 international Tomori in £15m deal.

Meanwhile, the Sunday Mirror suggest Ashley Cole could join the ex-Chelsea players in backroom roles at the club under new manager Lampard.

The story is based on comments by Lampard about his former team-mate, who played for him at Derby last season.

“First of all, I needed him as a player at Derby. And then there’s the extra stuff in terms of what he brings as a professional.” said Lampard

“Ash is great for the group. He was always first in at training, friendly with everyone and humble, even though he was the best left-back in the world for a long period.”

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s new Chelsea contract is worth £150,000 a week, according to the Mail on Sunday.

Gary Cahill, recently released by Chelsea, looks set for a return to his former club Aston Villa, The Sun on Sunday reports.

The Sun on Sunday also say Leeds United are willing to sell Pontus Jansson because of doubts over his attitude – supposedly amid interest from Sheffield United.

Brentford are close to signing Swedish defender Jansson, who is a popular figure at Elland Road.

And the Sunday Mirror again say Sheffield United are set to table a bid for Neal Maupay – West London Sport revealed this week that Brentford want at least £20m for the French striker.
