Leicester want James for £15m, Sun say

Stories in Friday’s newspapers involving Chelsea…

There continues to be speculation over the future of Chelsea youngster Reece James.

The defender, 19, impressed on loan at Wigan last season and Chelsea plan to give him a new contract.

It has been claimed that Manchester United are interested in James, who has also been linked with Crystal Palace and Brighton.

And The Sun now claim that United face competition from Leicester, who apparently want to sign James for £15m.

The Sun declare that Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers believes James “has a huge future in the game” and is keen to snap him up this summer.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid are set to offer Chelsea £106m for Eden Hazard, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Hazard is expected to join the Spanish club after confirming this week that he expects to leave Chelsea.

The Telegraph also say Juventus are confident they will appoint Maurizio Sarri as their new manager.

Blues head coach Sarri is set for talks with the club, having delivered the Europa League trophy and a return to the Champions League despite speculation over his future.

The Daily Mirror say Juventus have offered Sarri a £6.2m-a-year contract.

And in an interview with the Daily Mail, former Italy star Andrea Pirlo speaks about Chelsea deciding against signing him in 2009 because of his age.

“Chelsea said I was very old – 30 years old!” Pirlo says.
