Lampard to get Champions League bonus, Mail say

Stories in Tuesday’s newspapers involving Chelsea….

Frank Lampard will receive a lucrative bonus if Chelsea qualify for the Champions League under him this season, the Daily Mail say.

Chelsea legend Lampard is leaving Derby to take over as Blues boss – his appointment is expected to be confirmed shortly.

The Mail say Lampard is likely to sign a three-year contract worth around £4m a year and that securing a Champions League place for next season would push his wages towards the £5m mark.

The newspaper also say there is uncertainty over whether Shay Given will join Lampard’s coaching team at Stamford Bridge and that the former Republic of Ireland international might stay on as Derby’s goalkeeping coach.
