Transfer speculation in Sunday’s newspapers involving Chelsea…

Manchester City are close to beating Chelsea to the signing of Millwall youngster Samuel Edozie, The Sun on Sunday say.

It is claimed that Chelsea are keen to sign the 16-year-old winger but that City are set to snap him up.

Both clubs are said to have been watching Edozie in Millwall’s Under-16 side.


Speculation over Ake

Nathan Ake continues to be linked with possible return to Chelsea from Bournemouth.

The Sun on Sunday say the Blues would like to trigger a buy-back option agreed when they sold Ake to the Cherries.

However, with the prospect of a transfer ban hanging over Chelsea, the newspaper say Spurs are ready to buy the Dutchman for £40m.


Alonso linked with Spain return

The Sun on Sunday also reports that Atletico Madrid are keen to tie up a deal to sign Marcos Alonso from Chelsea.

The left-back is reported to have been lined up as a replacement for Lucas Hernandez at the Spanish club.


Bailey linked again

Chelsea have yet again been linked with Leon Bailey.

The Mail on Sunday declare that Chelsea have “revived their interest” in the Bayer Leverkusen winger.


Blues ‘refused to sell James’

The Mail on Sunday also say Leicester have dropped their interest in Reece James after Chelsea refused to sell the young defender.

Several clubs have been linked with James, who impressed during a season-long loan at Wigan.
