No decision made on Zakaria, says Potter

Chelsea boss Graham Potter has insisted that no decision has been made on the future of Denis Zakaria.

It follows reports that Zakaria’s season-long loan from Juventus could be terminated.

The Switzerland midfielder has not played since his move to Stamford Bridge, having been overlooked by both Potter and ex-boss Thomas Tuchel.

“There is no decision been made at all on that. Denis is in the group and has been training well,” Potter said.

“He is ready to help the team but there is competition for places in that area.

“He is an important member of the team and is patient and trying to help the team from the side at the moment. He is waiting for his chance.”

Speaking at a press conference on Tuesday afternoon, Potter also said there were “no updates” on Jorginho’s potential new contract.
