Transfer gossip: L’Equipe claim United want Zouma
Some of the latest transfer speculation as the deadline approaches…
Manchester United want to sign Kurt Zouma from Chelsea, French publication L’Equipe say.
It is claimed that United are looking to buy the French defender ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline.
Everton, meanwhile, are reportedly looking to sign Zouma on loan.
The Mirror declared on Wednesday that Everton were “increasingly confident” of landing Zouma on a season-long deal – although that was before he was linked with United.
Everton and West Ham are battling to sign Danny Drinkwater on loan from Chelsea, the Mirror say.
Both clubs are said to be keen to take the midfielder on a season-long deal ahead of Thursday’s deadline.
Drinkwater, signed from Leicester a year ago, has struggled to establish himself as a first-team player at Chelsea.
The Mirror say he is available for a move and believe both Everton and West Ham want to snap him up.
The Mirror say Fulham are competing with Crystal Palace for the signing of Jordan Ayew and that the forward has failed to report for training at Swansea in an attempt to force a move.
West London Sport revealed two months ago that Fulham wanted Ayew and Calum Chambers, who completed his loan move from Arsenal on Tuesday.
The Mirror quotes Swansea boss Graham Potter as saying: “Jordan has not been here, so that tells you he is not part of what we are trying to do by his own actions.
“It’s really whether we can get a good enough deal for the club, otherwise it’s going to be an interesting time for him. We know the situation and we are trying to find a solution.”
And Fulham have offered £8m for Celta Vigo right-back for Hugo Mallo, according to The Times.
