The Sun say Gareth Southgate is set to leave Gary Cahill out of England’s squad for the World Cup.

Defender Cahill, who recently lost his place in the Chelsea side, was recently left out by England boss Southgate for the internationals against Italy and the Netherlands.

The Sun say Southgate is concerned by the fitness of Liverpool’s Adam Lallana and is set to leave out Cahill for this summer’s tournament along with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Manchester United’s Chris Smalling.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror declare that Antonio Conte will be staying at Chelsea until the end of the season after it was announced that a new Italy boss will not be installed until then.

It follows speculation that Conte could leave his job as Blues boss this summer or even before the end of the campaign and return to the role he left in 2016 to take over at Stamford Bridge.

Over the weekend, The Observer reported that Paris St-Germain have opened talks with Conte’s representatives in an attempt to persuade him to leave Chelsea and join them this summer.

There has been speculation over Conte’s future since last summer

The French club are expected to part company with Unai Emery at the end of the season when his contract expires.

The Observer said Conte is one of four managers PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi is considering as a replacement.

The others were said to be Manchester United’s former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone and Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri.

The Mirror reports that Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has suggested during a Twitter Q&A that he is open to returning to his former club Arsenal in a coaching role in the future.

And the Daily Express has picked up on reports in Spain claiming that Chelsea have an agreement in place to sign Roma’s Edin Dzeko this summer.

It is claimed that Real Madrid were hoping to sign the former Manchester City striker, who discussed a move to Chelsea during the January transfer window.
