Chelsea youngsters thrash Brighton to make it 10 in a row

Chelsea’s Under-18 side won 4-1 at Brighton to record a 10th win in a row and move 12 points clear at the top of the table.

Charlie Brown, Billy Gilmour (pictured), George McEachran and Clinton Mola scored as the young Blues moved a step closer to retaining the Under-18 Premier League southern title. Two more wins will confirm them as champions again.

They led 3-0 at half-time after scoring three times in the space of five minutes.

Brown pounced on the loose ball to fire home after being tackled in the area and Gilmour then doubled the lead with a penalty after Brown had been fouled.

McEachran netted with a cracking strike, sending a left-footed volley into the bottom corner of the net.

And Mola’s goal was even better – a terrific volley into the top corner from 30 yards out.

However, Jody Morris’ side were denied a sixth consecutive clean sheet when Danny Cashman pulled a goal back for Brighton in the final moments.
