Transfer gossip: Chelsea believe Juve will accept lower Higuain fee – ESPN

Chelsea are confident they can buy Gonzalo Higuain for less than the fee initially agreed with Juventus, according to ESPN.

Higuain arrived on loan with Chelsea having the option to buy him at the end of the season for just under £32m.

But ESPN believe the Blues will be able to negotiate a lower price if they decide they want to keep the Argentina striker.


Rakitic still being touted for move

The Daily Mail have picked up on more reports in Spain linking Chelsea with Ivan Rakitic.

It comes after Spanish publication Sport claimed Chelsea and Manchester United have enquired about the Barcelona midfielder.

Chelsea have a policy of not spending big on players over 30 or offering them more than one-year contracts.

It is nevertheless claimed that the Blues could be willing to sign Rakitic, 30, for a fee of around £57m.

The player’s contract runs until 2021 and there has been speculation about his future while he has been seeking to negotiate a new deal at Barca.


Torino tipped to sign Aina

Torino want to sign Ola Aina on a permanent deal from Chelsea, the Daily Mirror reports.

Defender Aina has impressed while on loan with the Serie A club, who have an option to buy him at the end of the season.


Chelsea dealt Dybala ‘blow’, Sun claim

Juventus have apparently ruled out selling Paulo Dybala, which The Sun declare is “a blow” for Chelsea.

It is claimed that Chelsea want to sign the Argentine forward this summer.


Eight could go – Express

Up to eight players could leave Chelsea this summer, the Daily Express declare.

The players in question are David Luiz, Gary Cahill, Olivier Giroud and back-up keepers Willy Caballero and Rob Green, whose contracts are due to expire, as well as Eden Hazard, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Mateo Kovacic.

Kovacic is on loan from Real Madrid, who continue to be linked with Hazard, while Bayern Munich want Hudson-Odoi.
