Everton keen to buy Zouma, Times say

Some of the stories in Saturday’s newspapers involving Chelsea…

Everton have told Kurt Zouma that they want to sign him on a permanent basis this summer, The Times reports.

France defender Zouma, 24, has been on loan at Goodison Park from Chelsea this season.

The Times reports that Everton want to buy him but that Zouma’s future “remains complicated” because of the transfer ban imposed on Chelsea by Uefa.

A possible appeal by Chelsea to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas) could lead to the ban being suspended this summer.

If not, Chelsea are expected to be reluctant to let players leave because they would be unable to bring in replacements.

Meanwhile, The Sun declare that Everton have joined Chelsea in a battle to sign Bournemouth’s England striker Callum Wilson.

The Sun also suggest former Chelsea keeper Petr Cech will opt for a coaching role with the Blues rather than Arsenal when he retires from playing at the end of the season.

And the Daily Mail reports that police have upgraded the risk category for Chelsea’s visit to Cardiff to the highest possible amid fears of violence among fans.
