Sun on Sunday say Chelsea will make offer for Alderweireld

Some of the stories involving Chelsea in Sunday’s newspapers…

Chelsea have again been tipped to move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

Manchester United are also said to be interested in the Belgian amid ongoing speculation over his future.

The Sun on Sunday say Chelsea are planning to make an offer for Alderweireld, who has a year left on his Spurs contract and has so far not agreed the terms of a new deal.

The Sun on Sunday also say the two clubs must put aside years of bad blood, which started when director of football Frank Arnesen left White Hart Lane for Chelsea in 2005, to get a deal done.

The newspaper also say Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has lined up Matthijs de Ligt, 18, of Ajax as a potential replacement for Alderweireld.

Meanwhile, Chelsea could potentially groundshare with West Ham when Stamford Bridge is being redeveloped, again according to The Sun on Sunday.

And the Sunday Express claim Chelsea have given an indication they will look to appoint Juventus boss Max Allegri after apparently making a move for the Italian club’s sporting director Fabio Paratici.

It comes after a couple of Italian websites claimed Chelsea are interested in appointing Paratici this summer.
