Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho wants to spend £53m in order to beat Chelsea to the signing of Alex Sandro, the Sunday Mirror claim.
It comes amid ongoing speculation over the future of the Juventus left-back, who has been linked with Chelsea during the last couple of transfer windows.
The Sunday Mirror say former Blues boss Mourinho wants Sandro and that United are likely to wait until the summer but might move earlier if Chelsea do.
Conte wants Chelsea to try for Sanchez, Telegraph say
Antonio Conte wants Chelsea to try to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, the Daily Telegraph say.
The Telegraph say Conte wanted Sanchez during the summer transfer window and has recommended him again.
The story is based on comments made by the Italian at a news conference on Friday, when he was asked if other clubs should compete with Manchester City to try to sign Sanchez.
He replied: “No. If Manchester City wants him, then they buy him. They don’t have concerns about money and this investment.”
But he also described Sanchez as “a good investment” and added: “We are talking about a top player and you can buy him for a price not so high.
“The amount is around £20m. Maybe a normal price for Alexis Sánchez is €80-90m. This is my opinion.”
The Telegraph suggest Conte’s comments show “he does not know why Chelsea appear to be letting the opportunity pass” and that “he continues to give the impression that he is far from satisfied with the efforts of those responsible for signing players.”
Telegraph say Forest boss wants Musonda
New Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka wants to sign Charly Musonda on loan from Chelsea, according to the Daily Telegraph.
Chelsea are reportedly willing to let 21-year-old midfielder Musonda leave on loan this month.
The Telegraph say Karanka is keen to take Musonda to the City Ground for the rest of the season.
Hazard tells Mirror he will sign contract
Eden Hazard intends to sign a new contract at Chelsea and expects keeper Thibaut Courtois to do the same, the Daily Mirror reports.
There has been speculation over the futures of both players, with Real Madrid said to be interested in them.
Asked by the Mirror if he will sign a new deal, Hazard said: “Yes. I think Thibaut first. Then I will sign.”
Blues linked with Arthur Melo
Chelsea have been linked with Gremio playmaker Arthur Melo.
The Daily Mail say the Blues and Manchester United are both interested in the 21-year-old Brazilian, who would reportedly cost £45m.
It comes after Gremio reportedly pulled the plug on a deal for Melo to join Barcelona, apparently paving the way for him to move elsewhere.
