Chelsea believe Gomes deal is close, Mirror say
Stories in Wednesday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…
Chelsea are again being linked with Manchester United youngster Angel Gomes.
The midfielder’s United contract expires this summer and he is represented by well known agent Pini Zahavi, who has been negotiating a new deal for him at Old Trafford.
Chelsea were linked with Gomes, 19, earlier this year and reports later suggested he was likely to stay at United.
But now the Daily Mirror claim Chelsea believe they are close to signing Gomes, who is said to have rejected United’s offer of a new deal worth £30,000 a week.
Chiesa touted for possible move
The Daily Express say Chelsea are among clubs keen on Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.
It is claimed that Manchester United want Chiesa but face competition from the Blues, Tottenham and Arsenal. who are supposedly keeping tabs on him.
Celtic linked with Clarke
The Express have also picked up on a story by Football Insider claiming that Jack Clarke is wanted by Celtic.
Clarke has been on loan at QPR from Tottenham.
