Transfer gossip: Chelsea are linked with Pereira – and Arsenal with Konsa

Transfer stories in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…

Reports claim Chelsea want to sign Andreas Pereira from Manchester United and that Arsenal want Brentford’s Ezri Konsa.

The Sunday Mirror say the Blues and Arsenal are keen to buy Pereira when the transfer window opens in January.

He has been out of favour under boss Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford and his contract is due to expire in the summer, although United have an option enabling them to extend the deal by a year.

The Sunday Mirror claim United are ready to sell him for an initial £10m plus as much as another £10m in add-ons.

The newspaper also say there is interest from Monaco, Valencia – where he was on loan last season – and Inter Milan but that the 22-year-old Brazilian wants to stay in England.

Meanwhile, The Sun on Sunday claim Arsenal want to sign Konsa and are ready to offer £15m for the defender.

Arsenal were among the clubs linked with Konsa while his representatives were looking to drum up interest in him prior to his move to Brentford from Charlton in the summer.

Reports repeatedly claimed the centre-back was on his way to a top Premier League side.

He is again being linked Arsenal ahead of the next transfer window, with The Sun on Sunday declaring that “the chance to move to one of the giants of the game will appeal to him.”
