Chelsea through in Champions League after beating Lille

Chelsea 2 Lille 1

Tammy Abraham and Cesar Azpilicueta scored as Chelsea clinched a place in the knockout phase of the Champions League.

The opener came after 19 minutes. Christian Pulisic found Willian on the right and the Brazilian did superbly to set Abraham up for a simple tap-in.

And Azpilicueta’s near-post header from Emerson Palmieri’s corner 10 minutes before the interval doubled Chelsea’s lead.

Lille posed virtually no threat until a goal out of nothing by former Chelsea striker Loic Remy meant they had to endure an anxious end to their final group game.

Remy blasted in off the underside of the bar with 11 minutes remaining.
