Soccer - Barclays Premier League - Chelsea v Manchester City - Stamford Bridge

Five of Chelsea’s academy youngsters have been named in the England Under-17 squad for European Championship qualifiers later this month.

Goalkeeper Jared Thompson, defenders Trevoh Chalobah and Dujon Sterling, midfielder Mason Mount and forward Martell Taylor-Crossdale are all in contention to face Turkey, Finland and Ukraine.

Thompson and Chalobah played every minute of the three qualification games in the autumn as England progressed to the elite qualifying round, while Mount, Sterling and Taylor-Crossdale all featured in a double-header friendly against Germany in November.

All three matches will be played in England, with Chesterfield, Leek Town and Burton Albion the venues.

The group winners will progress to the finals in Azerbaijan in the summer.
