Five Chelsea players featured for England as they beat Mexico 3-2 in the Under-17 World Cup to progress to the knockout stage.

Striker Callum Hudson-Odoi (pictured), midfielder George McEachran and defenders Marc Guehi and Jonathan Panzo all started for England, who clinched their place in the next round with a game to spare.

Another Blues academy player, Conor Gallagher, came on as a second-half substitute.

England, who made a great start to the tournament in India by beating Chile 4-0 in their opening group game, with Hudson-Odoi scoring, raced into a three-goal lead against the Mexicans.

Liverpool’s Rhian Brewster opened the scoring with a superb free-kick before Rhian Brewster of Manchester City made it 2-0 and recent Borussia Dortmund signing Jadon Sancho netted from the penalty spot.

Mexico responded with two goals, but England, whose final group match will be against Iraq on Saturday, held out for the win.
