Chelsea win again to keep pressure on Spurs

Swansea 0 Chelsea 1

Cesc Fabregas’ early goal was enough to give Chelsea victory at the Liberty Stadium.

Fabregas struck after just four minutes, curling his shot into the top corner after being set up by Eden Hazard – the Spaniard’s 50th Premier League goal.

The victory kept alive Chelsea’s hopes of pipping rivals Tottenham to a Champions League place.

It moved them to within two points of fourth-placed Spurs, who are at home to Watford on Monday.

Chelsea were largely comfortable, especially in the first half, when Swansea defender Alfie Mawson almost scored an own goal.

And Victor Moses should have added a second with 16 minutes remaining but was unable to add the finishing touch at the far post after being teed up by Fabregas.

Chelsea then had to ride their luck in the final stages, with Andre Ayew and Tom Carroll missing great chances to earn a point for the relegation-threatened Swans.
