Drogba set to sign new contract

Didier Drogba is discussing a one-year extension to his Chelsea contract.

The Ivory Coast striker, 33, has been linked with moves to Tottenham, Real Madrid and his former club Marseille.

But Drogba, whose current deal expires next year, insists he wants to stay at Stamford Bridge and is close to committing himself to Chelsea until 2013.

“This will be my eighth season at the club and it means a lot for any player to stay that long at Chelsea,” he added.
