D-Day for Chelsea duo as Di Matteo assesses Wembley options

Chelsea will this morning assess David Luiz and Gary Cahill to determine whether they will be available for the FA Cup final against Liverpool.

Both players are nursing hamstring injuries and sat out Wednesday’s defeat against Newcastle, but have returned to training and are hoping to play this weekend.

Interim boss Roberto Di Matteo and his management team are due to run the rule over the duo at the club’s Cobham training ground today.

Di Matteo is expected to give an update at lunchtime on whether the defenders are in contention for the Wembley clash.
