Crystal Palace in a ‘good situation’ against Chelsea, says Conte

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte says Crystal Palace have nothing to lose as they look to stop his side matching a club-record streak of 11 consecutive league wins.

The Blues made it 10 in a row with a 1-0 victory at Sunderland on Wednesday and make the short trip to Selhurst Park in Saturday’s early kick-off.

Palace boss Alan Pardew said in his pre-match press conference that Chelsea looked “unbeatable” at present, but Conte insisted all the pressure was on the visitors.

“Sure, when you arrive from 10 wins, there is a great respect for you,” he said.

“But this situation is a good situation for the opponent because they have nothing to lose. It is more difficult for us to continue this way than for our opponent to beat us.

“We have to continue to work and to improve in our project, in our system, to trust what we are doing.

“In the world there is not a team that is unbeatable. For us now it’s very difficult, because when you play against a team that has nothing to lose they put intensity and great aggression [into their game] to try to beat the team that is arriving with 10 wins in a row.

“We all know that we have to fight a lot to stay with the other teams, to fight for the title. Now the situation seems easy, but it is not easy. My experience tells me that.”
