Conte warns Leicester forwards will be a threat to Chelsea

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is wary of the threat Leicester will pose up front when the sides meet in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Sunday.

The Italian, whose side were knocked out the Champions League by Barcelona on Wednesday, now only has the FA Cup to target to try to bring silverware to Stamford Bridge this season.

Conte said Jamie Vardy and whoever plays alongside the England striker will pose serious questions of Chelsea’s defence.

“For sure we all know about Vardy’s characteristics,” Conte said.

“He is a clever player and is very good to attack the space and to find the right time to attack the space.

“We must pay great attention if they decide to play with [Kelechi] Iheanacho or Shinji Okazaki.”

Conte was also mindful of the quality that Leicester still possess elsewhere in their squad.

“We are talking about a team that two years ago won the title,” he added. “And in the squad there are many good players with good qualities – talented players.

“They want to fight a lot. In the game at home we suffered a lot. They put a lot of pressure on us and they run a lot and have very dangerous players. We must pay great attention.”
