Antonio Conte has admitted he is concerned about Alvaro Morata’s back problem – and appeared to suggest the Chelsea striker could even miss the rest of the season.

Morata, who has been unavailable for almost a month, has been ruled out of Monday’s game against West Bromwich Albion and Chelsea are unsure when he will be able to return.

“I don’t know. He has this problem and we have struggled a lot to find the solution to solve the pain in his back,” Blues boss Conte said.

“If you ask me (if) he needs one month, one day, two months or the rest of the season, I don’t know.

“For this reason I am a bit worried, because you know very well the importance of the player.

“We are talking a lot about results but sometimes we forget that we are facing a serious situation because players like Morata, that for us are very important, are missing for a lot of time.”

Pedro has been passed fit for Monday’s game following his recent injury problem and Conte added that he hopes to have Andreas Christensen back from a hamstring injury.
