Antonio Conte says he will be patient with his players after seeing defensive failings help Tottenham with all of their goals in Easter Sunday’s 3-1 home defeat.

Alvaro Morata’s header put the Blues ahead in the first half, only for a misplaced Victor Moses pass to lead to Christian Eriksen’s stunning equaliser.

A long ball saw Cesar Azpilicueta fail to track Dele Alli for Tottenham’s second goal and Andreas Christensen was culpable for the third goal when he wasted chances to clear.

“There was a great frustration to concede stupid goals in this way,” said Conte.

“There are a lot of players with not great experience and they have to get this experience with mistakes. We must have patience.”

Referring to Moses’ mistake, Conte added: “I was a footballer. It can happen where you lose the ball.

“It’s not the time to put responsibility on a player. We must be in this situation together.”
