Conte staying tight-lipped over Terry’s future

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is remaining tight-lipped on the issue of John Terry’s future amid reports the Blues captain is set to be offered a new deal.

The 36-year-old defender’s contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire this summer and he was previously widely tipped to leave.

However, reports on Friday claimed that Chelsea are to offer Terry a one-year contract to stay at the club.

But Conte gave nothing away when asked about Terry’s future at a news conference.

“For every situation there will be the right moment to face it,” said the Italian.

“I think the club is working very well to solve the many situations we have to face.

“I like to talk about John for this season because he is helping me a lot. He’s doing a great job on and off the pitch.

“John knows my thoughts about him and I think the most important thing is this.”
