Chelsea’s Bakayoko ‘has room for improvement’

Antonio Conte says Tiémoué Bakayoko has plenty to improve on despite the French midfielder’s excellent start to his Chelsea career.

A knee problem meant Bakayoko, 23, had to wait for his Blues debut following his summer move from Monaco.

He has since been hugely impressive, but Blues boss Conte believes he can get even better.

“Bakayoko is 100% fit and is playing very well,” he said.

“For sure he has a lot of room for improvement. He’s a young player and sometimes he makes good things and negative things.

“We have to try to work together to increase the positive things during games, but he is showing is a really good player and an important player for us.”

Conte has also backed Andreas Christensen, who is set to start against Manchester City on Saturday in place of the suspended David Luiz.
