Chelsea prepared to take risks – Conte

Antonio Conte says Chelsea’s switch to a back four during the second half at Stoke showed they are prepared to take risks in order to win matches.

Conte’s 3-4-3 formation has proved to be a phenomenal success, with Chelsea storming to the top of the Premier League.

But the Blues boss made a crucial change in Saturday’s game at Stoke, where he switched formation and sent on Cesc Fabregas.

His team snatched a late winner, with Gary Cahill’s goal taking them a step closer to the title.

“This is not the first time because it happened against Burnley,” said Conte.

“If you want to take more risk and try to take three points and not only one, you have to try to change.

“But when you change, there is the great possibility to score a goal but also to concede and you must know this.

“Sometimes I try to risk and other times I prefer to keep the result.”
