Ross Barkley could make his Chelsea debut in next week’s FA Cup replay against Norwich City, according to boss Antonio Conte.
Barkley, recently signed from Everton, had hamstring surgery last year and has not played so far this season.
But he has been training with the rest of the Blues squad and Conte believes the England international is on course to feature in Wednesday’s game.
“I think we are more clear now,” Conte said.
“I must be satisfied for his physical condition. For sure he is working very hard and I think maybe in the next game against Norwich he could be available. I hope so.
“He is not ready 100% but I think he can start to help us for the rest of the season.”
