Rafael Benitez says he has been invited by Chelsea’s board to suggest possible January transfer targets but wants to assess his squad before talking about new signings.
The club have been linked with a number of players but interim manager Benitez insists he needs a couple of weeks to decide which areas the Blues need to strengthen.
He explained: “I was talking with the board, they were asking my opinion and we were talking about the future, but I said it was too soon for me.
“I’m pleased because they’re asking me and they want my opinion, but I think it’s too soon.
“I want to see the team in a couple more games and in training sessions and then I will have a better idea.”
