Transfer gossip: Chelsea’s Estevao linked with Barcelona

Barcelona are monitoring Chelsea winger Estevao Willian’s situation, according to Spanish outlet Sport.

The 19-year-old Brazil international has played 23 minutes in the first five Premier League games of the season, and both of his starts have come in the EFL Cup.

Sport – which regularly links a host of players with the likes of Barca and Real Madrid – claim Estevao is frustrated in his second season at the club and is pessimistic about his prospects of more playing time.

Manager Xabi Alonso has said he expects the forward to get more opportunities.

The report also say Estevao believes his development lies in moving away from the right wing and playing more centrally, which is where Cole Palmer operates.

It adds that he does not want to put on more muscle, as he did in his first year in England, because he fears it could affect his speed and skill.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are monitoring Crystal Palace’s England left-back Tyrick Mitchell, Caught Offside claim.
