Blues youngsters frustrated in friendly

Chelsea’s development side were unable to break the deadlock in a pre-season friendly at Northwood which ended in a 0-0 draw.

The non-League outfit put them under plenty of pressure in the first half and keeper Sam Walker had to produce a decent save before his side began to create chances at the other end.

Walker produced a first-half save.

Striker Adam Phillips was unable to take a couple of good opportunities for the Blues, while Bertrand Traore had a shot saved by Woods keeper Mitch Swain.

Chelsea’s best moment of the first half came when Billy Clifford turned skilfully and sent a curling effort narrowly over.

Both teams made a number of substitutions for the second half, with former QPR midfielder Richard Langley appearing for the home team.

One of Chelsea’s substitutes, Andreas Christiansen, twice fired over after being set up by John Swift.
