Chelsea youngsters suffer shock European exit
Chelsea’s youngsters are out of the Uefa Youth League after a shock 3-2 home defeat by Estonian side Flora Tallinn saw them lose 5-4 on aggregate.
Head coach Xabi Alonso was at Cobham to see Mathis Eboué give Chelsea an early lead in the second leg of the second-round tie, after a 2-2 draw in Tallinn.
But Sander Alamaa, who scored both of Flora’s goals in the first leg, equalised after 17 minutes.
Half-time substitute Ibrahim Rabbaj restored Chelsea’s lead within two minutes of coming on, scoring from Eboué’s cross.
Marten Kukkonen levelled nine minutes later, and Alamaa then scored a penalty 12 minutes from time to send the visitors through.
