Chelsea youngsters denied by Brighton as Fulham thrash Southampton

Chelsea’s Under-18 side drew 1-1 at Brighton on Saturday in a clash of two teams that went into the match with 100% records this season.

Armando Broja’s close-range finish put the young Blues ahead early in the second half but the hosts responded with Lorent Tolaj’s equaliser with 20 minutes remaining.

Chelsea played the final five minutes with 10 men after Xavier Simons was red-carded for a challenge on defender Bobby Copping.

Meanwhile, Sylvester Jasper scored twice for Fulham’s Under-18s as they won 5-1 at home to Southampton.

The Whites’ other goals were scored by Terry Ablade, Fabio Carvalho and Mika Bierith.
