Chelsea’s Under-19 side lost 2-0 to Roma in the Uefa Youth League ahead of the first team’s Champions League clash with the Italian club.

The visitors went ahead in the first half at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground courtesy of Andrea Marcucci’s penalty following a handball by Ethan Ampadu (pictured).

Prolific striker Martell Taylor-Crossdale was brought on at half-time and the young Blues had chances to equalise, with Luke McCormick firing over after being found by Dujon Sterling.

But they fell further behind when Lorenzo Valeau’s shot squirmed past keeper Marcin Bulka and over the line.
