Chelsea youngster signs new contract

Chelsea have given youngster Jordan Houghton a new contract and extended his loan spell at Doncaster Rovers to the end of the season.

The 21-year-old midfielder, who has made 27 appearances for League Two promotion chasers Rovers this season, is now under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2018.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have extended goalkeeper Jamal Blackman’s loan at Wycombe until the end of the campaign.

“I want to get that promotion and hopefully win the title,” Houghton told Doncaster’s website.

“It was the right decision for me, and all the parties. Chelsea were happy for me to stay because I’m playing.”
