Transfer gossip: Barcelona linked with Chelsea duo

Some of the latest transfer speculation involving Chelsea…

Chelsea: David Luiz

The Daily Mirror have picked up on a story claiming that Barcelona are interested in Chelsea defender David Luiz.

The story is from Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, which says Barca have drawn up a list of centre-backs they could target.

It is claimed that Luiz is on that list along with Laurent Koscielny of Arsenal.

It comes as Luiz’s representatives are discussing a new contract for him with Chelsea, where his current deal expires in the summer.

Barca linked with Willian too

Barcelona have also been linked with Chelsea’s Willian.

Metro have picked up on a story by La Sexta claiming that Barca, who did express an interest in the Brazilian during the summer, have already held talks over a potential January deal.

Blues keen on Mumba, Sun reckon

Chelsea want Sunderland’s teenage midfielder Bali Mumba, it is claimed.

The 17-year-old has made just four appearances for the League One club but has been touted for a move to the Premier League.

The Sun claim Chelsea are battling with Manchester City in an effort to sign him.

It comes after scouts from both clubs watched an FA Youth Cup match between Sunderland and Halifax on Wednesday.

The newspaper say City “were in pole position” to snap up the England youth international and were willing to pay £2.5m but that Chelsea are now also keen.
