Chelsea to play Arsenal in Dublin

Chelsea will play Arsenal in a pre-season friendly in Dublin on 1 August, it has been confirmed.

The match at the Aviva Stadium will be one of three International Champions Cup games the Blues will play this summer.

The others will be against Inter Milan at French club Nice’s Allianz Riviera Stadium on Saturday 28 July and against Lyon at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday 7 August.

The home game against Lyon is two days after FA Cup winners Chelsea will face Premier League champions Manchester City at Wembley in the Community Shield.

Chelsea’s involvement in that game meant a change of date and venue for the meeting with Arsenal, which was initially scheduled to take place in Stockholm on the day of the Community Shield.

Chelsea’s pre-match campaign will begin in Western Australia with a friendly against Perth Glory at the new Optus Stadium on Monday 23 July.
