Chelsea to assess Costa injury

Diego Costa will have a scan to assess the extent of an injury he picked up in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

The striker was in the thick of the action, making a fine run which led to Per Mertesacker’s red card and scoring the winner before hobbling off after 68 minutes.[phone][/phone]

Blues boss Guus Hiddink said he is optimistic the injury is not significant.

Hiddink said: “It was a little bit on the knee. We will check it. Will make some scans. I don’t think it is very serious.”

Costa’s goal was his sixth in as many matches.
