Willian’s superb strike in Chelsea’s 4-0 win at Brighton last month has been voted the Premier League Goal of the Month for January.

Chelsea’s second goal against the Seagulls came after a wonderful team move, with back-heels from Eden Hazard and Michy Batshuayi before Willian fired home.

“I’m very happy to win this award,” Willian said.

“It is one of the best goals that I’ve scored in my career. It was a special goal, it was a good moment, it was good quality by the team.

“I saw Hazard in front, and Batshuayi. I passed to Hazard, and then he passed to back to Michy, and then we played between us and I scored the goal.

“I hope to score more goals like this one, but the most important thing is to get a trophy.”
