Hull v Chelsea player ratings
Pedro Neto’s hat-trick helped Chelsea romp past Hull City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. Here’s how we rated each Blues player in the 4-0 win against Liam Rosenior’s former side.
Robert Sanchez: 6
The Spaniard had little to do until making a couple of decent late saves, but a trademark brain splurge of a moment saw him needlessly charge out of his goal and so nearly led to a late Hull consolation.
Reece James: 7
Steady and reliable at both ends of the pitch, but one sloppy moment where he tried to see the ball out so nearly led to a Hull goal.
Jorrel Hato: 7
Hato looked assured on the ball and showed his powers of recovery and pace as well.
Wes Fofana: 7
Quietly efficient, Fofana was a calming influence and did all that was asked of him defensively while making good decisions when using the ball.
Mamadou Sarr: 7
Sarr impressed on his first Chelsea appearance, the 20 -year-old showing good defensive maturity and also his ability with the ball at his feet.
Andrey Santos: 8
Another eye-catching and effective showing by a player whose selfless efforts allows others to shine. Santos was also unlucky not to score with a decent header soon after the break.
Moises Caicedo: 7
A typical Caceido performance – understated and unflustered but full of control and class in the midfield.
Alejandro Garnacho: 6
Lively and threatening without ever truly looking totally convincing from his many promising positions. Garnacho looks like a player who has more he can offer but has not really been able to show it since joining.
Estevao: 8
A surprising first-half miss never affected the Brazilian, whose ability, pace and sheer energy and enthusiasm already makes him a breathtaking talent – with bundles of potential.
Pedro Neto: 9
Chelsea’s standout attacking player, long before his sweetly-struck opener. Neto played like a man with something to prove after a recent dip in form. He was always involved, showing good delivery in open play and from set-pieces, and also his goalscoring ability.
Liam Delap: 7
Delay recovered from a dreadful first half, when his touch and technique deserted him, with his late assist seemingly providing the confidence for a vastly improved second half in which he laid on two more goals and showed he can run the channels and hold the ball up.
Josh Acheampong: 7
He looked comfortable after coming on, showing no signs of a hangover after a couple of costly moments in the midweek draw with Leeds.
Enzo Fernandez: 6
With the game already won, played within himself, making the most of his mini rest and also enabling Caicedo to take a breather.
