Chelsea are Premier League’s second-highest spenders on agents

Chelsea were the Premier League’s second-highest spenders on agents in the 12 months up to the end of January, figures released by the Football Association show.

Chelsea spent just over £25.1m on fees for intermediaries and agents over 12 months, slightly less than Liverpool’s 26.8m.

The figures are for the period from February 1 2017 to January 31 2018, taking in last year’s summer transfer window and the recent January window.

The aggregate spend by Premier League and Football League clubs amounted to £257,680,542.
